Jackson Hole Activities:
Rodeo:
The famous Jackson Hole Rodeo is every Wednesday and Saturday nights. Come and watch as cowboys and cowgirls gather to compete in barrel racing, team roping and the thrilling bull riding – One place where 8 seconds can seem like forever. Enjoy the show as the competitors get “rough tough and a wee bit western”. Great entertainment for the whole family. Let your youngins’ participate in the calf scramble. Get your picture taken with a cowboy!
Horseback riding:
Experience Jackson Hole the cowboy way with a scenic horseback ride through some of the most stunning landscapes in the world. Horses available for all levels, from a gentle giant for the inexperienced rider, to a high-spirited mount for those ready to get up and go!
Float trips:
A scenic float trip offers a gentle way to float the Snake River. Drift along as your guide shares stories of the valley while you enjoy the view of the majestic Tetons, take pictures of a wide variety of wildlife, including moose and bald eagles, and bask in the stunning beauty of Jackson Hole.
Then, to satisfy your adventurous side get wet and wild on a whitewater float trip. Guided trips are the way to go if you’re new to river rafting, but for the more advanced river rat, you can rent your own boat if you like. Lunch counter rapids will be a thrilling highlight of your adrenalin pumping trip.
Bike Rentals:
Renting a bike is a great way to explore the town of Jackson. However, if it’s vertical you’re looking for, there are many mountain bike trails to be explored. Check in with a local bike shop for trail maps and gear.
ATV Rentals:
Have fun off-roading with an ATV. Rent your own and travel through the backcountry in the national forests around Jackson. Guided tours are also available.
Hot Air Balloon rides:
The crisp mountain air and the beauty of the mountains will take your breath away. Enjoy a birds-eye view of our splendid valley in an early morning balloon ride.
Covered Wagon Cookouts:
Slow down and enjoy a covered wagon ride, but be prepared to encounter some Indians on horseback checking to see if you’re friend or foe. After your wagon ride, it will be time to chow down on a traditional ole west cooked meal, and enjoy great western entertainment.
Bar J Chuck wagon:
Supper and a western show with the iconic Bar J Wranglers. Great family entertainment for the whole family. The meal is as close to what you would eat on an authentic cattle drive. This is a must see!
Chair lift:
Take in the views of the valley while you ride the chair lift to the top of Snow King Mountain. Hiking trails abound at the top, or you can ride back down after enjoying panoramic views of the area. If you’re a hiker, ride to the top and hike down, or even more strenuous, hike to the top and ride down. A local favorite. Don’t forget to drink lots of water!
Mini golf:
Test your golf skills on the slopes of Snow King Mountain. See who the real golfer in your family is.
Alpine Slide:
Travel down the slopes of Snow King in a toboggan. You pick your own speed so you can race your friends to the bottom, or take a leisurely glide through the wild flowers. Fun for all ages!
Jackson Hole Historical Society and Museum:
Take some quiet moments and enjoy the history of the ole west. Let the museum take you back in time to revisit the pioneers and trappers who first settled the area.
Golf:
The valley of Jackson Hole offers great golf courses that have been designed by the professionals you know. The scenery at each of the courses is nothing less than spectacular.
Rock Climbing:
Practice rock climbing at some of the local rock climbing parks and gyms, then take your skills and knowledge and head to the mountains.

Tram Ride:
Take the tram up to the top of Rendezvous Mountain. See the Grand Teton up close and personal. Enjoy many of the hikes at the top of the world, or just take in the spectacular view.
Historic Downtown:
Take your picture under the legendary elk horn arches. These arches are made totally of shed antlers from the elk that call Jackson home.
Monday through Saturday enjoy the “Shootout” located on the Northeast corner of the town square at 5:30p.m. Watch as the cowboys rob a stagecoach and save the damsel in distress. Be right in the middle of the action.
Take a stagecoach ride with the mighty horses leading the way on the streets of Jackson.
Stroll the wooden boardwalks of downtown. As you walk around stop and have your old time photo taken. Dress for your picture in western clothing provided.
Fishing:
Whether you’re curious to try it for the first time, or a seasoned angler, you must take a guided fishing trip down the blue ribbon waters of the Snake River. Fly fishing enthusiasts come from every corner of the globe to fish the waters of the Greater Yellowstone Area.
